The 1st edition of the Education and Life Long Learning Exhibition Gaudeamus® International 2008 was held in the Krizik exhibition hall E of the showground in Prague from the 9th to the 10th April 2008. The exhibition was designated for everybody who wanted study at a university, college or at other school abroad. The exhibitors were from fourteen countries and they were twenty eight.

Foreign exhibitors were from the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Pakistan, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Ukraine and from the United States. Foreign exhibitors were mainly universities, colleges and higher professional schools.

Students were interested in small exhibitors and the biggest universities as well. Visitors were looking for information about future study. The big interest was about study in foreign languages at foreign universities, communication in English was not a problem. Students were interested in possibility study in foreign language in Czech universities, colleges and higher professional schools as well.

The students are mostly interested in Social Sciences, Economics and Management. They prefer Bachelor's degree with possible follow-up Master's degree or Master's degree (long). The biggest influence on their decision has personal predisposes, skills, interests and employment prospects; preceding education and job status - the least.

Lectures of exhibiting schools were the most interesting for students. Students could to know more information about possibility of study and conditions of admissions on these lectures. Lectures were attended by 1 348 - 1637 students approximately. Lectures were held in the lecture hall directly in the exhibition hall, attendance was free of charge. The lecture hall had capacity of 120 seats, but interest of students was bigger.

Among exhibitors were the 4th grade pupils of secondary schools, higher professional school graduates, graduates with bachelor or master diploma and visitors who were interested in life long learning. Visitors were from the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and many another countries over the world, for example Chinese and other. The actual attendance was 5459 visitors.
