4th year of the Gaudeamus Exhibition was held at the Holešovice exhibition grounds in exhibition halls E and D. Students could visit many originally designed booths. Participating schools tried to interest the students not only by their extensive study offer, but also by presenting state-of-the-art technologies and scientific findings applied to everyday life.

This year’s attendance was record-breaking. There were times when both exhibition halls were so full of students that it was almost impossible to move around. The attendance exceeded both organiser’s and exhibitor’s highest expectations.

More than 8 000 came to see the Exhibition during the two days. There were also substantially more senior year high school students, seeking specific schools or fields of study, compared to previous years. There also was a significant increase in student’s interest in studying abroad. There were 153 exhibitors from 13 countries all around the world.

Interesting thing about this year’s Exhibition was the joint exposition of six Canadian universities realized in cooperation with the Embassy of Canada in the Czech Republic. Canadian schools offered very interesting and advantageous study opportunities to Czech students. The Exhibition was also visited by important representatives of the Canadian embassy in Prague.

Lectures given by participating schools were the traditional accompanying programme. The lecture hall was located in exhibition hall D and seated 120 people. The lectures proven to be the most effective way of passing information to the students, so the lecture hall was the most visited place. More than 22% of visitors attended at least one lecture.
